Engineering Heritage with Sustainability
The Paris 2024 Games set a new benchmark for sustainability. As the official goods design and manufacturing partner for Samsung Electronics, KimShin translated industrial waste into cultural heritage through premium Olympic merchandise. By applying recycled aluminum and recycled acrylic, we developed a production system where premium aesthetics and environmental responsibility could coexist on the global stage.
파리 2024 올림픽은 지속가능성의 새로운 기준을 제시했습니다. KimShin은 삼성전자의 공식 굿즈 디자인·제작 파트너로서, 산업 폐기물을 문화적 헤리티지로 전환하는 프리미엄 올림픽 굿즈를 구현했습니다. 재생 알루미늄과 재생 아크릴을 적용해, 프리미엄 미학과 환경적 책임이 공존할 수 있는 생산 시스템을 구축했습니다.

01. Samsung x Paris 2024 Official Special Pin | Sustainable Aesthetics
We crafted official special pins using high-clarity recycled acrylic to achieve a refined, glass-like transparency. By adopting precision engraving instead of chemical printing, we eliminated ink usage and aligned the design with zero-waste circular principles. Sustainability was not treated as decoration, but embedded into the material and production method itself.
삼성전자 x 2024 파리 올림픽 공식 스페셜 핀은 고투명 재생 아크릴을 적용해 유리와 같은 정제된 투명도를 구현했습니다. 화학 인쇄 대신 정밀 각인(Engraving) 방식을 채택해 잉크 사용을 배제했으며, 소재와 제작 방식 단계에서부터 제로 웨이스트 기반의 순환 디자인 원칙을 반영했습니다. 지속가능성은 장식이 아니라, 구조 안에 내재된 설계였습니다.

02. Paris 2024 Official Heritage Pin | Recycled Aluminum Innovation
Crafted from the same recycled aluminum used in Samsung Galaxy devices, this project challenged conventional pin manufacturing standards. By successfully mass-producing pins using difficult-to-process recycled materials instead of standard zinc alloy, we established a scalable and truly sustainable production system.
2024 파리 올림픽 공식 헤리티지 핀은 삼성 갤럭시 기기에 사용되는 동일한 재생 알루미늄을 적용해 제작되었습니다. 업계에서 통상적으로 사용되는 아연 합금 대신, 가공 난도가 높은 재활용 알루미늄 소재의 양산에 성공하며 기존 핀 제조 방식을 재정의했습니다. 이는 단순한 소재 변경을 넘어, 확장 가능한 지속가능 생산 시스템을 구축한 사례입니다.

03. Samsung Olympic™ Rendez-vous | Interactive Eco-Experience
For the Galaxy Flip customization experience in Paris, we produced the sustainable product components that powered the interactive zone. Crafted from rPET (recycled plastic bottles), the straps and rings were designed not merely as accessories, but as experiential tools—enabling visitors to witness and participate in the material transformation process. Sustainability was not explained. It was experienced through product.
